1967 Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider 1600

We are pleased to offer on behalf of one of our clients this beautiful Alfa Spider Duetto 1600.

This car has been with its current owner here in Northern California for the past 40 years. It comes with great documentation and still carries the collectable, original black California license plates!

The Spider was launched at the 36th Geneva Motor Show in March 1966. The Spider's 1,570 cc twin cam engine had dual Weber two-barrel side-draft carburetors, and produced 109 PS DIN (80 kW; 129 PS SAE). In the US the car sold for $3,950 (compared to $3,991 for a Lotus Elan and $2,607 for an MGB). In the UK the car's price was close to a Jaguar E-Type.
A 1966 Series 1 Spider 1600 is famously featured in the 1967 hit film The Graduate starring Dustin Hoffman giving the model widespread visibility. It had its engine note and such electrical foibles as the non-functional fuel gauge accurately reproduced. A special edition Alfa Graduate model was available in the United States in the 1980s.

Finished in Alfa red over black leather, this is a classic, time-less design and among the prettiest Italian sports cars ever produced.

The current owner bought this car in the late 1970�s and has enjoyed it ever since.
The car�s engine was rebuild once at around 80k miles and has not more than 10k miles on it since. Total miles on the car are just under 92k.

In 2005 the car�s body was stripped to bare metal and completely restored and freshly painted to original specification. Records as well as photos exist of the restoration.
The car has just been driven occasionally, but was never neglected. A full folder of service receipts are proof of tender loving care by the long-term owner.

Today, it still presents itself very nice with gorgeous paint, excellent body and panel gaps and beautiful interior. All bright work is in great shape and the car comes equipped with 4 Chromodorra rims as well as 5 original Alfa steel wheels. Original jack included. Dunlop brakes!

This Alfa runs and drives very well and just needs a new owner who will take it on the roads again!
